PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced the addition of new conformance test suites for testing the Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) protocol on its QA Robot and RouterTester platforms. The test suites are the first in the industry to allow network equipment developers to perform automated testing to ensure that their implementations of MPLS protocols (both RSVP and LDP/CR-LDP) conform to relevant IETF standards. Developed by Digital Technology Inc. (DTI), a company recently acquired by Agilent, these new products extend Agilent's existing MPLS testing capabilities to provide customers with the most comprehensive set of MPLS test tools available today.

"Our acquisition and rapid integration of DTI's expert MPLS software into our key platforms has enabled Agilent to fill a critical gap in this important testing area, and provided our customers with new tools to rapidly bring next-generation network equipment and services to market," said Bill Wood, general manager of Agilent's Advanced Networks Division.
