John W. Gamble Jr. has been named senior VP and treasurer; Kevin Pennington will be senior VP, human resources

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- Agere Systems, formerly known as the Microelectronics Group of Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU), today announced that John W. Gamble, Jr. has been named senior vice president and treasurer and Kevin Pennington will be senior vice president, human resources. On July 20, 2000, Lucent announced its intention to spin off its Microelectronics Group. The IPO is expected to take place by the end of the first calendar quarter of 2001, and the spinoff is expected to be completed by September 30, 2001.
