BELFAST, U.K. -- Aepona, the leading supplier of services and application solutions to telecoms service providers, today announced a new board member. Allen E. Snyder, Executive Vice President and COO at Openwave Systems Inc. has joined Aepona's board as a non-executive director.

Al Snyder brings an exceptional understanding of global telecoms from his 30 years in the high-tech industry.

"Through a strong personal network of telecom executives, Al has his finger on the pulse of the telecom industry and the ear of many influencers," commented Isaac Olasoko, Aepona CEO. Openwave provides open software products and services for the communications industry, including wireless operators, broadband providers, MVNOs and device manufacturers. Aepona has a long relationship with Openwave. Aepona was formed from the services arm of APiON after it sold its WAP gateway product business to Openwave in 1999.
