Acterna Offers Test Devices

GERMANTOWN, Md. -- Acterna (NASDAQ: ACTR), the second largest provider of communications test and management solutions, today unveiled CycloneCore IP Optimiser, an in-service IP traffic engineering and troubleshooting tool for testing packet-over-SONET/SDH networks. CycloneCore changes the paradigm of IP monitoring by providing real-time, customised monitoring of data traffic to ensure optimum network utilisation for carriers deploying and maintaining MPLS high-speed core networks throughout the world. CycloneCore will be showcased at CeBIT (March 21-28) in Hanover, Germany, Acterna, Hall 14, stand J06, and Hall 11, stand C19.

Acterna, formed by the May 23, 2000, merger of TTC and Wavetek Wandel Goltermann (WWG), today announced the availability of the 2510 10-Gig Field Services Test Module for Acterna's TestPad 2000 platform. Weighing nine pounds (4.1 kg), the solution is portable and hand-held for simplified field testing of 10 Gigabit signals on SONET and SDH networks at speeds up to OC-192c and STM-64c. The latest addition to Acterna's TestPad 2000, the 2510 10-Gig module is designed for use by service providers and manufacturers to turn up, maintain and troubleshoot optical networks worldwide. It will be showcased at OFC 2001 (March 19-21) in Anaheim, Calif., at Acterna booth 1316, and at CeBIT (March 21-28) in Hanover, Germany, Acterna, Hall 14, stand J06. It will be available for customer shipment by summer 2001.
