Ericsson WiMax

1:00 -- Interesting to note that Ericsson AB (Nasdaq: ERIC) is not entirely out of WiMax. The Bangkok Post is reporting that Ericsson is actually using some fixed WiMax in its Thailand deployment.

Only fixed WiMax though. Here's why, according to Hans O. Karlsson, president and CEO of Ericsson Thailand:

We are members of the WiMAX forum, but is Ericsson [in agreement with WiMax] for Mobility? Then answer is simply no. There will be applications for WiMAX in the fixed wireless arena for sure, but there is no mobile WiMAX today.
