Networking veteran Peter Van Camp joins board of application performance infrastructure developer

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Packeteer(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:PKTR), a leading provider of application performance infrastructure systems, today announced the appointment of Peter Van Camp, CEO of Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq:EQIX), to its board of directors. "Peter's extensive experience in the service provider arena and his strong background as an executive with companies at various stages of growth make him a valuable member of the Packeteer board," said Packeteer President and CEO Craig Elliott. "We look forward to working with him in the future."

At Equinix, Van Camp is responsible for building the company's position as the leading provider of Internet Business Exchange(TM) (IBX)(TM) centers, which serve as high performance hubs for Internet exchange and infrastructure services. Prior to joining Equinix, Van Camp served as president, Americas Region for UUNET, a WorldCom company. In his sixteen-year career with CompuServe Network Services, the corporate data networking division of CompuServe, Inc., Van Camp most recently served as president and led the company's entry into the European marketplace.
