SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Entone Technologies, a leading provider of broadband video systems, and Calix, the leading provider of ultra-broadband access systems, today announced Entone's participation in the CalixCompatible program.

The CalixCompatible program, launched at SUPERCOMM 2004, provides a means of demonstrating and certifying the interoperability of multi-vendor components that collectively enable advanced IP services such as broadcast and on-demand video. In the case of Entone, this includes the company's Hydra residential gateway for enabling multi-stream IP video services and StreamLiner video servers for enabling advanced services such as video on demand.

"This program is valuable for Calix partners as well as our joint customers," says Mark Evensen, VP of Product Development for Entone Technologies. "Through their extensive lab facilities in Petaluma, Calix is able to take some of the burden off the operators for testing the interoperability of system components. Likewise, it provides a means for Entone and Calix to fine tune our joint solutions before introducing them to customers."

A key driver for Entone and others to join the CalixCompatible program is to collectively offer a proven, robust end-to-end system to the operators. This significantly reduces the integration burden that operators may otherwise have when having to integrate a disparate bundle of system components.

"We are delighted to be working with Entone as a member of the CalixCompatible program," states Rick Johnston, Calix Vice President of Business Development. "It is important that we include best-of-breed residential gateways and video servers, such as those offered by Entone, as part of the complete solutions we offer to customers."
