Entone Box Fuses TV With OTT

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Entone, Inc., a leading provider of Hybrid TV and Connected Home solutions, is unveiling its Kamai 500 Hybrid Media Player this week at the TelcoTV show. Powered by Entone’s FusionTV® platform, Kamai enables service operators to deliver a superior TV experience by fusing traditional linear HDTV and cloud-based services.
Designed as a cost-effective Hybrid TV client device, the Kamai 500 Series’ compact design packs a full set of high-performance features and has twice the processing speed and half the power consumption of other streaming devices. With Kamai, service operators can offer a richer and more compelling TV service that includes live TV and over-the-top (OTT) content such as streaming movies and shows from VUDU, social media apps from Facebook and Twitter, photo sharing from Flickr and Picasa, and Internet radio from Pandora.
Kamai’s optional off-air tuner can eliminate retransmission fees and reduce network bandwidth demand. Kamai 500 Series provides flexible networking options such as carrier grade pre-802.11ac Wi-Fi (5.4GHz) for whole-home wireless HD video distribution. Kamai also supports Adaptive Bit-Rate (ABR) streaming to ensure uninterrupted video delivery across the Internet and various last-mile networks. With ABR streaming, Kamai can dynamically select the best quality video stream to be delivered over current network conditions.
