Red Hat + dress code I used to have the same difficulty making the jeans-vs-pants decision for conferences. For most conferences, I tend to be either the best-dressed or the worst-dressed. I've since defaulted for all but the most conservative conferences to usually going with jeans with a blazer or sport jacket. (Even if it's summer and 90 degrees out, I'll grin and bear it because extra pockets means less I have to carry in my shoulder bag.)

Red Hat Summit is kind of right up my alley dress-wise (I wasn't there this year but have attended a couple previously) because it seems to be equally for open-source devs and besuited senior Fortune 1000 executives.
