Stranger things happening in Las Vegas, as Amazon goes to the Upside Down.
Hello again, Las Vegas. My fourth and final trip to Sin City in 2017 was for Amazon Web Services's big customer and partner hoedown, re:Invent.
During the late November conference, I practiced two of the Seven Deadly Sins: 1. Gluttony at the hotel food court while staying up late writing articles, and 2. Envy for people who were not in Las Vegas.
But I shouldn't complain. Las Vegas has a certain insane charm as a conference location. Everything is accessible, although you have to run the gauntlet of slot machines to get where you're going. And there's plenty of weirdness to occupy the eye.

Figure 1: Upside Down The Threat Stack booth had a theme based on the Netflix series Stranger Things. The t-shirts say "Securer Things."
