Re: Etsy & (Amazon vs. Google)
I wonder if Amazon and Etsy were in talks that went sour. Amazon ended up adding a handmade marketplace (presumably to compete with Etsy). I wonder how that's going for Amazon.

Any plans for renewable are often just talk, and the current Administration won't be doing anything to promote conservation.

Re: Etsy & (Amazon vs. Google)
I wonder how serious the two are in the claim that "both companies committed to reaching 100% renewable energy for all operations," and it's not just playing to public relations ploys to gain a bit of extra publicity for the new cooperation between the two. It will be interesting to see what the plans might be for using renewable at Google and Etsy in a significant manner.

Re: Etsy & (Amazon vs. Google)
Bare metal is cool, but it's not cheap. I've been reading that Etsy has had to make changes to its culture, which I think is one of the reasons why there is a new CEO. Cloud reduces IT costs, and that's that.

Etsy & (Amazon vs. Google)
More interesting to me about all of this is that Etsy was once considered, not too long ago, an attractive prospect for Amazon to buy them out.

On the one hand, the move to Google Cloud potentially announces something very clear related to that.

On the other hand, I could simply be overthinking this and business is business (such as when PwC moved from Microsoft to Google simply as a matter of business -- and had to do a lot of damage control to keep Microsoft as a client).
