Xyratex on-track with its global growth strategy - hires industry veteran to expand sales operations and market reach

HAVANT, U.K.-- Xyratex (Nasdaq: XRTX), a leading supplier of enterprise class data storage subsystems, today announced it has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of industry veteran John Casalaspi as senior vice president of worldwide sales for the storage and network systems division.

Casalaspi brings more than 25 years of relevant industry and executive experience to his new position at Xyratex. In this role, he will be instrumental for expanding the company's OEM channel strategy while supporting and driving continued channel growth involving leading storage solutions providers. Casalaspi's stellar career in the computer storage networking market includes extensive sales management and product development experience with a global set of OEMs and Channel Partners. Prior to joining Xyratex, Casalaspi served as a key member of Adaptec's global sales operations team, spearheading OEM Sales and Business development. In his earlier years, Casalaspi held a series of senior-level positions with additional companies such as Western Digital, Lantronix Inc. and Connex. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters degree in Computer Science and Business Administration.
