AMCC announced that Timothy M. Heenan has decided to leave the Company to pursue other interests

SAN DIEGO -- Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (Nasdaq: AMCC) today announced that Timothy M. Heenan has decided to leave the Company to pursue other interests. Heenan, who has been with AMCC since 2000, will resign his position as senior vice president, operations and quality effective November 11, 2005.

"Tim has been instrumental in scaling our operations and quality systems through a series of complex acquisitions as AMCC transitioned from a core transport company to a broad-based provider of networking solutions. Tim and his team have made numerous contributions over the years and I want to personally thank Tim for his dedication and significant contributions," said Kambiz Hooshmand, President and CEO of AMCC.

AMCC also announced the appointment of Robert H. Bagheri as senior vice president, operations and quality, succeeding Heenan. Bagheri, who will start November 14, 2005, has over 24 years of experience in manufacturing operations and quality and engineering functions in the technology sector. He was most recently executive vice president, Central Engineering and Operations and Quality and Reliability at Silicon Image, Inc., a public semiconductor company specializing in high-speed serial communications technology selling into the personal computer, storage and consumer electronics markets. At Silicon Image Bagheri was responsible for several manufacturing and engineering disciplines as well as quality and reliability functions, strategic business direction, long-range planning and technology and foundry selection. Before Silicon Image, Bagheri held senior positions at SiRF Technology Inc., where he spent six years, S3 Inc., and Zoran Corporation. Bagheri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Cleveland Institute of Technology, Cleveland, Ohio.
