PETAH TIKVA, Israel -- ECI Telecom (NASDAQ:ECIL) has introduced Hi-FOCuS(tm) IP, a comprehensive carrier-grade packet access solution that enables telecom carriers to smoothly migrate to IP-based broadband networks. With this solution, carriers can cost-effectively take advantage of IP and offer new revenue-generating services such as triple play (video, voice and data), IP VPNs, VoIP and more.

ECI's Hi-FOCuS(tm) IP packet access solution has already been chosen for deployment within leading operators' networks. A unique single platform solution that combines the very best of broadband technology and IP design, ECI's packet access solution enables significant savings in capital expenditures while achieving greater operational efficiency.

"As the market trend towards IP and packet-based broadband access solutions continues to gather momentum, companies like ECI that are driving innovation in this sector are well poised to benefit from IP access network build outs," said Erik Keith, Senior Analyst for Broadband Infrastructure at Current Analysis. "While other broadband access vendors have yet to jump on the IP bandwagon, ECI has already demonstrated the value of its Hi-FOCuS(tm) IP solution via multiple customer deployments."

"Many carriers including RBOCs and PTTs today are looking for offerings that can cost-effectively bridge the gap to IP without sacrificing on quality or performance," said Ofer Reviv, VP of Marketing and Sales Support for ECI Telecom's Broadband Access Division. "We believe our solution will be a powerful addition to carriers' infrastructure plans as they migrate to IP and seek a reliable and high-performing broadband access edge."

ECI's packet access solution provides far more functionality and features than a regular IP-based DSLAM. The solution covers all multi-service support requirements for access networks, such as fiber, xDSL and Voice and concurrently supports a multitude of service interfaces including VDSL, ADSL2+, Broadband PON (BPON), Gigabit PON (GPON) and POTS as the need arises. In addition, a non-blocking backplane enables migration to multiple GBE and 10GBE network interfaces.

Furthermore, with QoS playing an essential role in an IP environment to guarantee and prioritize different levels of services (whether video, voice or data), ECI's packet access solution provides superior QoS capabilities for blocking architectures while allowing bandwidth requirements for non-blocking topologies.
