Dual Jewel?

6:00 PM -- It won't come as a surprise to regular readers that Sprint Corp. (NYSE: S) is planning to introduce a dualmode CDMA-WiMax card by year's end: We reported on the plan back in September. (See Sprint Plots Dual-Mode CDMA-WiMax.)
In fact, Sprint is going to drop the XOHM brand and call the combo service "Sprint 4G" -- just as we'd finally started to learn how to say "XOHM" properly.
What you may not know is that Clearwire LLC (Nasdaq: CLWR) is developing at least some of the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) software platform to handle Sprint, Comcast Corp. (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK), and Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE: TWC) services on the WiMax network in Baltimore and beyond, in-house through its IntraISP subsidiary. The firm has been hiring all kinds of people for the software unit in St Louis recently, including MVNO specialists.
