Vodafone, Three and the merger of the UK 'not spots'
The latest merger plea by Vodafone and Three reveals the dire state of their mobile coverage in rural areas. Soviet-style supervision is an awkward remedy.
Over the past several years, the communications industry has seen an increase in automation, including in transport networks. The growing uptake of IP and optical convergence, and AI, have further driven this trend. With its greater complexities – particularly in the optical layers – transport automation is not always easy to implement, but operators understand it is a crucial component of a successful automation strategy.
In July and August 2024, Heavy Reading conducted the year 3 version of its global automation network operator survey, tracking automation progress in IP and optical transport networks. In this special webinar, Heavy Reading is joined by experts from Ciena, Infinera, Juniper, and Nokia to discuss this year’s survey findings and what they mean for the future.
Date: Oct 3, 2024
Time: 12:00 EDT
Duration: 1 Hr
Topics addressed will include:
Primary transport automation use cases – current and planned
Addressing key barriers to automation adoption
Current state of AI and machine learning (ML) in transport operations
Use cases to benefit most from the application of AI/ML
Strategies for managing coherent pluggable optics in IP over DWDM
The need to reinvent automation to become more intent driven
