Dicos Technologies gets $4.8M in financing from multiple Canadian firms

SAINTE-FOY, Québec -- DiCOS Technologies inc. (www.dicostech.com ) announced today that it has secured $4.8-million in financing from the Business Development Bank of Canada, CDP Capital - Technology (formerly CDP Sofinov), GTI Capital, Innovatech Quebec and from SOVAR. This investment will allow DiCOS to continue developing its products, complete its manufacturing infrastructures and to consolidate its marketing team. Founded in Sainte-Foy, Québec in October 2000, DiCOS is a spin-off of the Center for Optics, Photonics and Lasers (COPL) at Université Laval and is a world leader in smart photonics applied to the absolute control of optical frequency in the telecommunications industry. DiCOS develops optoelectronics solutions providing calibration for manufacturing tunable components, instrumentation, and integrators in optical telecommunications networks. Their customers are situated in North America, Europe, and Asia. The company is managed by Dr. Michel Têtu, President, Head of Technology and outgoing director of the COPL, as well as three other founders, Dr. Jean-François Cliche, Vice-President of R&D, Dr. Christine Latrasse, Scientific Director and Mr. Alain Zarka, Test & Measurement Director.Dicos Technologies Inc.
