RICHMOND, Calif. -- DiCon Fiberoptics, Inc. today announced introduction of 11 new products. The new products include next generation micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) components for switching and attenuation, integrated passive modules for multiplexing/demultiplexing (MUX/DMUX), Optical Add/Drop Modules (OADMs) and Dynamic Band Equalization, high-power amplifier passive components and Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) components. Detailed specifications for these new products will be available shortly on DiCon’s website at www.diconfiber.com.MEMS Products: The new MEMS Products represent the second-generation MEMS components. These products include a MEMS 1x4 Switch, a MEMS Wavelength Division Multiplexer/Variable Optical Amplifier (WDM/VOA) Hybrid and a MEMS Tap/VOA Hybrid.

  • MEMS 1x4 Switch

  • MEMS Band WDM/VOA Hybrid

  • MEMS Tap/VOA Hybrid

Integrated Modules: DiCon also introduced a family of four passive modules based on its MEMS, WDM and fused coupler components technologies. These modules include a Reconfigurable OADM, VOA-OADM,VOA-MUX and Dynamic Band Equalizer.

  • Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer Modules (ROADM)

  • VOA-MUX/DMUX Modules (VMUX)

  • VOA-OADM Modules (VOADM)

  • Dynamic Band Equalizer Modules (DBE)

MUX/DMUX Products: DiCon also introduced a family of next generation MUX/DMUX Products designed to increase the performance and reduce the cost of DWDM passive modules. These new components include 50 GHz Modules, Duplex, 100 GHz WDMS and Wideband 100 GHz Filters thin film technology, as well as 3 Port Circulators for use with Fiber Bragg Gratings and Arrayed Waveguide Gratings.

  • 4 Channel & 8 Channel 50 GHz Modules

  • Duplex 100 GHz WDMs

  • 3-Port Circulator

  • Wideband 100 GHz Filter

Amplifier Components: DiCon announced that its complete line of passive optical amplifier components (including its best-in-class gain flattening filters, MEMS attenuators, pump-signal combiners, isolators, power taps and hybrids) have been certified for long term power handling up to 1.5 Watts. By eliminating epoxy from the high power density interfaces of the component, all such components are being specified as suitable for use in high power Raman and erbium gain modules.
