Diatem Network becomes a member of the Metro Ethernet Forum

OTTAWA -- DIATEM Networks Inc., the leader in carrier-Ethernet management systems, announced today that is has become a member of the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). DIATEM intends on making significant contributions to the evolution of standards and specifications for the management of carrier-class Ethernet technologies and services.he appointment of Chris Purdy as Vice President, Product Management and Jeffrey Robinson as Director, U.S. Sales, further expanding its management expertise and extending its direct sales efforts to the U.S. marketplace.

Formerly Director, Product Line Management with Nortel Networks, Chris Purdy brings 20 years of OSS, EMS and NMS experience to DIATEM. Among his many accomplishments at Nortel, Chris led a cross corporate project to create Nortel’s end-to-end Optical Ethernet Network Management Solution, providing Nortel value-added differentiation to their network technology offerings. Chris also led the creation of TelePATH (now known as PSP), which is deployed in Tier 1 service provider networks worldwide for the management of some of the world’s largest TDM, voice, VoIP and Ethernet networks. His tenure at Nortel included numerous engagements with service providers in all areas ofacross the globe. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Jeff Robinson joins DIATEM with 18 years of telecommunications industry experience. For over 15 years, he was a Partner for a highly regarded telecommunications management consultancyconsulting firm, where he focused on guiding multinational clients in the procurement and implementation of telecommunications service agreements with global carriers. Jeff has been involved with assignments in over twenty countries and has been on the leading edge of numerous managed services contracts. Prior to his role in international consulting, Jeff was a leading sales manager for a US telecommunications integration firm. Jeff is based in Albany, NY and will focus on establishing and managing DIATEM’s relationships with the growing list of service providers delivering Ethernet business services and using Ethernet to support their triple play (VoIP, Internet, Video) initiatives. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.”The MEF is clearly the industry focal point for the evolution of carrier-Ethernet technologies and services and we are pleased to be participating,” said Kevin Vachon, DIATEM CEO. “Membership will benefit our customers and business partners as we further engage with the industry thought leaders,” added Vachon.
