HANOVER, GERMANY -- DIATEM Networks Inc., theleading developer of real-time service control systems for Metro Ethernetnetworks, announced today that it is conducting live demonstrations of itsEthernet Service Control capabilities over an international broadband networkat the CeBiT trade fair in Hanover, Germany. The demonstrations are takingplace from the Industry Canada pavilion Hall 11, Stand B11, for the duration ofthe event.

The demonstration showcases the dynamic control of connectivity and Classes ofService (CoS) over the NCIT net in Ottawa, Canada, an advanced research andproduction network based on Ethernet-over-DWDM technology. The applicationsused in the demonstration are video-conferencing and video-on-demand wheremultiple video streams compete for bandwidth with 100% best-effort traffic.

The demonstrations prove that, in a network environment the delivery ofservices with guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) parameters is feasible onlyin the presence of a service control platform. The demonstration furtherillustrates how service providers and network operators can leverageleading-edge services control systems by DIATEM to effectively deliver advancedOptical Ethernet services over existing data networks.

DIATEM, in conjunction with the Ottawa-based National Capital Institute ofTelecommunications (NCIT), was one of only a handful of companies selected byIndustry Canada to participate in this years CeBiT event. "DIATEM's leadingedge technology is an excellent example of how Canada is leading the world intelecommunications innovation", says Marie Bernard Meunier, Canadian Ambassadorin Germany. "We are proud to showcase their accomplishments on this worldstage."
