Hewlett Packard Enterprise Is Born

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Today, following its separation from Hewlett-Packard Company, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) debuts as an enterprise technology leader with $53 billion in annual revenue, the most comprehensive product portfolio in the industry and a unique vision for the future of technology and its benefits for enterprise customers. To mark this milestone, Hewlett Packard Enterprise representatives including President and Chief Executive Officer Meg Whitman, as well as partners and customers will come together to ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, where the company will begin to trade under the ticker "HPE."

    It will be interesting to see... HP enterprise is separating itself from its consumer products, just as Dell is expanding its reach by acquiring huge enterprise solutions... Which is the better strategy?

    Apple chose to partner with IBM instead of jumping into the enterprise market alone -- which seems smart in some ways.

    And Microsoft is getting deeper into consumer hardware... 

    In the end, I suppose it depends on the culture at each company and how each can focus (or not focus) when multiple priorities are essential parts of their organizations.
