Nice props
Good summary, Mitch. Though I'm having trouble concentrating on the content with the lamp from A Christmas Story and the old phone in the background. Nothing says telecom innovation like a rotary phone...

Death of Portals
Great summary Mitch.  I've been calling a trend in content providing Death of the Portal.  That is, you used to have places like Yahoo where everyone came to for their content, online games, social networking.  Back then there were a million and one ISPs.  Today broadband is only supplied by a few and getting less every quarter.

Meanwhile, the change in the way we create applications and their interdependence on remote functions (like identity, credit processing) means that more people can rent real estate on a server and cobble together what they need, rather than having everyone come to a single portal for all content.
