CTIA 2011: Xoom Takes On the iPad 2

1:00 PM Android’s tablets put out some pretty compelling specs, but will it be enough to compete with the market-leading iPad?

One point of clarification -- In the video I said something like this is a two-horse race between the Xoom and iPad with no close third competitor. Meant to say between Android -- which would include the Samsung tabs -- and iOS. Sorry for the mistake.

not doomed, of course. but not likely to gain double digit market share in the next five years. this is a long race, of course, so Microsoft and RIM both have a chance to win the enterprise and slowly win consumers over. my feeling, though, is that neither one were quick enough to market with a good enough product to consider a "leader" for the first five years of the tablet wars.

so you would expect RIM's playbook or other alternatives doomed?... including a possible come back by microsoft which did not stay for long out of netbook, which might be closer to the PC market when tablets seem closer to mobile phones in terms of interface and usage...
