Corning and Foseco Metallurgical sign three-year supply contract for high-efficiency ceramic metal casting filters

CORNING, N.Y. -- Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW - News) and Foseco Metallurgical Inc. today announced they have signed a new three-year contract to supply Corning extruded ceramic molten metal filters to Foseco. The agreement, valued at approximately $40 million, will provide the foundry industry in North America with Corning extruded ceramic molten metal filters, used by foundries to improve the quality and yields of metal castings. Under the contract, Foseco will continue to provide warehouse, distribution, technical support and marketing services for Corning's extruded ceramic filters, branded Celtex® in North America. Foseco, a leading provider of foundry equipment and supplies, has distributed and marketed Corning-manufactured molten metal filters in North America for almost two decades. Corning invented the extruded ceramic filter and patented the extrusion process for manufacturing in the early 1970s and has been a leading ceramic filter supplier for the past three decades. Steven P.
