Contec appoints Donald Lay CEO

VANCOUVER -- Contec Innovations (TSX Venture Exchange - Symbol "BUZ"), a provider of mobile Internet infrastructure software, today announced that its Board of Directors has named Donald Lay as CEO of the Company. Perry Quan, will continue to serve as president of the Company and as a director.

Lay, 46, brings more than twenty years of systems software and venture finance experience to the Company. As a principal focused on mobile technologies at One Degree Capital, a Vancouver-based financial and communications firm, Lay spent much time in the dynamic Asian mobile markets. As a founding director of China MobileSoft, a Chinese-based mobile software provider, he assisted in the structuring, financing, strategic development and recent US$16 Million sale to NASDAQ-listed PalmSource, provider of Palm OSR, a leading operating system powering next generation phones and mobile devices.

Previously in his career, Lay has successfully delivered capital raising and corporate communications services to public and private technology firms as well as serving in sales capacities at major software providers Dun & Bradstreet Software and SAS Institute Inc. Lay is a director, significant investor and was responsible for initial capital raising activities of Contec.

"Don's track record in the capital markets and broad experience in the mobile Internet sector are great additions to Contec," stated Perry Quan, president & co-founder. "His talents complement those of the existing team to help us get to the next level".

Together Lay and Quan, along with co-founder and CTO Roland Schmidt will form the executive team going forward. With Lay's focus on capital markets and corporate development Quan will continue the build-out of Hornet's customer base and other strategic initiatives in Greater China as well as continue to direct the company's product lines. Schmidt will continue to lead the R&D team.
