June 1, 2006
CHICAGO -- TranSwitch® Corporation (NASDAQ: TXCC - News) will demonstrate three of its semiconductor devices for the converging network at GLOBALCOMM 2006 in Booth #59062. The EtherMap®-PDH extends Ethernet to the last mile for wire line and wireless applications. The Envoy(TM)-XE is a single-chip Ethernet/VLAN/MPLS switch and traffic manager for Ethernet in the first mile (EFM) and access applications. The recently introduced PacketTrunk(TM)-4 Plus is a single-chip solution for implementing standards-compliant circuit emulation service (CES) interfaces and systems. CES, which is complementary to VoIP, offers a graceful, robust, and affordable migration path for transporting T1, E1, T3, and E3 circuits over packet-switched networks (PSN).
Visitors to TranSwitch's exhibit will see:
EtherMap-PDH illustrating a streaming, packetized video application
Envoy-XE demonstrating carrier-class Ethernet multicast video distribution from a Gigabit Ethernet feed to Fast Ethernet broadband subscriber links
PacketTrunk-4 Plus performing circuit emulation of T1/E1 traffic
Additionally, TranSwitch telecommunications experts will deliver educational presentations on consequential networking challenges.
These will take place in the TranSwitch booth during the three days of the event starting at 11:00 a.m. on June 5:
Cost-effective and Practical Migration Strategy for 3G Wireless Backhaul
Increase the Value of Existing Equipment with Circuit Emulation
The Role of Carrier Ethernet and IP in IPTV Transport
Network Architectures for Delivering Metro Ethernet Services
Smooth Migration to Packet-Based Networks
