MONTREAL -- Octasic Inc., a leading innovator of media processing solutions, today announced that after posting a 57 percent leap in revenue during 2007, the company is poised to deliver its groundbreaking Vocallo chipset -- the next generation multi-core gateway DSP platform for voice, video and data over IP applications – in early 2008.

“This past year was simply tremendous for us,” said Michel Laurence, Octasic’s chairman and CEO. “The strength of our products, our continued expansion into international markets, and our exciting new product developments are propelling the company forward. We look forward to an exciting 2008, as our recently announced Vocallo product ships and we enter new, diversified market areas.”

Based on Opus, Octasic’s DSP core architecture, the Vocallo expandable media gateway solution is the first DSP platform of its kind to enable a new flexible business model for OEMs designing media gateways. Qualified customers are participating in its Early Access Program, providing a “first look” at Vocallo, along with technical assistance and advantageous pricing.

“Octasic’s growth is remarkable given the weak market conditions for communications semiconductors in 2007,” said Joseph Byrne, senior analyst at The Linley Group. “The new high-density Vocallo voice processor expands the opportunities Octasic can pursue.”
