NXP IPO Falls Short

1:00 PM -- Dutch chip firm NXP Semiconductors N.V. (Nasdaq: NXPI) showed it's still tough to raise money from the public markets by joining the Nasdaq at $14 today, raising $476 million before costs.

In late July, NXP said it expected to IPO at between $18 and $21, raising up to $714 million. (See Euronews: July 26.)

To add to its disappointment, NXP's share price dipped in its first few hours of trading by $0.35, or 2.5 percent, to $13.65.
