SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Dune Networks, a provider of networking devices for Metro Ethernet, Enterprise and Data Center platforms, today announced that it has expanded its collaboration with NetLogic Microsystems, Inc., a worldwide leader in high-performance intelligent semiconductor solutions for next-generation Internet networks, by completing the industry's first RXAUI interoperability validation.

The 6.25Gbps RXAUI (Reduced pin XAUI) interface effectively doubles the performance of the serial connectivity between the PHY and the switching silicon, or reduces the number of serial lanes by 50% to achieve the same throughput when compared with the 3.125Gbps XAUI interface.

As this is a new industry interface, Dune and NetLogic Microsystems have successfully validated the interoperability between Dune's market-leading switching solution and NetLogic Microsystems' best-in-class 10 Gigabit Ethernet PHY solution. In addition to the collaborative Paran reference platform, the companies have also validated the RXAUI interoperability on joint customer solutions.

"We're excited to collaborate with Dune Networks and to have completed interoperability testing on the high-performance RXAUI interface between Dune's Petra P3xx high-density datacenter switching solution and our 10GE PHY," said Stefanos Sidiropoulos, vice president of Physical Layer Products at NetLogic Microsystems. "By ensuring interoperability and enhancing ease of system integration, we are meeting our customers' demands for enhanced performance, functionality and scalability."
