Cavium Cuts Salaries

5:10 PM -- It's not stated whether this is meant to be an alternative to layoffs, but a Cavium Inc. (Nasdaq: CAVM) filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) today notes that certain executives are having their salaries docked by 25 percent.

The filing lists the CFO (Arthur Chadwick), the vice president of markeing and sales (Rajiv Khemani), the vice president of chip engineering (Anil Jain), and the VP of strategic markets and business development (Sandeep Vij).

President and CEO Syed Ali recommended that his own salary be cut by 50 percent. All the changes took effect Jan. 1.
