MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Following a very successful GPON introduction at the FOE Japan show, BroadLight today announced that it has established an office in Tokyo Japan and hired Mr. Toshinari Hayashi as Country Manager. The new BroadLight Japan office will provide sales and support services to BroadLight’s existing customers and spearhead the company’s aggressive pursuit of additional GPON design wins throughout Japan.

“At last month’s FOE Japan, we were very pleased at the overwhelming response we received for our working GPON demonstration,” said Andrew Vought, CEO of BroadLight. “The new BroadLight Japan office, under the leadership of Mr. Hayashi, will be instrumental in turning this interest into design wins and providing the region with outstanding service and support.”

“I am honored to assume leadership of BroadLight’s Japan office,” said Toshinari Hayashi, Country Manager of BroadLight Japan. “I believe BroadLight is in a strong position with the industry’s only available GPON solution and I look forward to providing this time-to-market advantage to Japanese customers.”
