SHANGHAI, China -- Comcore Optical Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of fused fiber products, today announced the general availability of its newly developed fused polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber 1x3 and 3x3 splitters/mixers.

Designed and developed for fiber sensing applications such as fiber optic gyroscope (FOG), the 1x3 & 3x3 monolithically fused devices allows 120 degree phase difference between the three coupling arms, which significantly reduces the complexity in electronics design and signal processing. Based on a proprietary fusion and packaging processes developed by Comcore engineering team, these 1x3 & 3x3 devices are believed to be the first ever commercially produced using fused fiber technologies. Together with Comcore ’s mature product, 1x2 and 2x2 PM couplers, these 1x3 and 3x3 products can be manufactured in volume using Comcore’s in-house designed manufacturing station and tailored to meet special customer needs.
