Liquid crystal-based 25GHz Flex Band WSS enables system providers to build next-generation optical networks, says vendor

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- CoAdna Photonics, Inc., a leading supplier of dynamic and tunable modules for ROADM and WXC applications, today announced the introduction of a Liquid Crystal-based 25GHz Flex Band WSS that enables system providers to build next generation flexible and intelligent optical networks. The new 25GHz Flex Band WSS will be demonstrated at CoAdna’s OFC/NFOEC 2011 Booth #1310 in the Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, CA, March 8-10, 2011.

CoAdna’s 25GHz Flex Band WSS incorporates the key technology and reliability of its proprietary LightFlow platform and offers excellent performance with integrated functionalities of hitless wavelength selection and programmable bandwidth in one compact package. Additionally it provides remote configurability via embedded firmware and software, scalability, and extremely low power consumption. The product features low insertion loss, flat & wide passband and high extinction ratio for long haul, metro and access applications.
