Scottish professional services giant moves ICT to cloud to improve client services.
August 21, 2013
LONDON -- Exponential-e, the leading technology enabler, today announced it has completed a major project to transform Scott-Moncrieff’s ICT network, moving its data centre and service infrastructure to a cloud-based model. Part of a major long term deal for the Scottish accountancy and professional services firm, the project includes the migration of Scott-Moncrieff’s entire ICT system on to Exponential-e’s private 100 Gigabit Ethernet Layer 2 high-speed national network. This robust and scalable infrastructure foundation ensures that Scott-Moncrieff is able to plan for future growth and deploy new technologies to bring further business benefits.
By moving to a cloud-based model, Scott-Moncrieff benefits from unprecedented transparency in its ICT system, allowing the company to run in-depth network reporting techniques, such as monitoring bandwidth usage and latency criteria. The move also ensures protection against avoidable network outages, as well ensuring that the network’s compliance and security accreditation is always up-to–date. Additionally, the adoption of Exponential-e’s data recovery solution ensures all data is constantly backed-up and enables rapid recovery in the case of an unexpected network outage.
Exponential-e has taken on management responsibility for all aspects of the network estate, as well as vital applications such as Microsoft Lync, SharePoint and Managed Exchange, all of which were fully implemented as part of the project. The outsourcing of such services frees Scott-Moncrieff’s IT team to focus on strategic projects that can directly benefit its clients and staff.
