Clearwire LLC (Nasdaq: CLWR) today clarified that talks with Sprint Corp. (NYSE: S) involve a roaming deal between the two companies' WiMax networks -- so far at least.
There has been a lot of speculation over renewed talks between the two companies recently. Last year, ThinkEquity LLC predicted that the companies would rekindle their partnership in 2008 (See Sprint-Clearwire: On Again in 2008?)
Clearwire CEO Ben Wolff confirmed today that the companies are involved in talks on a roaming deal. He also said the companies were working on collaborating in other areas, but did not give details, according to Reuters.
The companies scrapped the partnership last time because they said the agreement was too complicated to make it work.
