ClearSpeed incorporates in US, names industry veteran Mike Calise as president, and opens Silicon Valley office

LOS GATOS, Calif. -- ClearSpeedTM Technology Ltd., a leading provider of high-performance packet processing technology, has incorporated in the U.S., named semiconductor and intellectual property (IP) industry veteran Mike Calise as president of the company and opened a Silicon Valley office located at 20 No. Santa Cruz Ave, Suite 3C, Los Gatos, CA 95030. The Bay Area is the company’s most important geographic market, and the opening of an office here was in response to requests from strategic partners and early adopters of the company’s technology. "ClearSpeed truly ‘gets’ it – the company provides significant breakthroughs in packet processing for the networking and SAN markets with an elegant, low-cost technology. Faster, cheaper, simpler is the proven formula in this space, and ClearSpeed has it," said John Hart, ClearSpeed board member and former 3Com chief technical officer. "We are really excited about growing a ClearSpeed presence in the Bay Area, a highly important market for us, with a strong president like Mike at the helm." Calise has nearly 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry working for various companies including Intel, Benchmarq Microelectronics (TI), Catalyst Semiconductor, Palmchip, and Improv Systems. He has successfully grown global sales management and field applications organizations and has been instrumental in creating key semiconductor technology partnership agreements. Calise has spent the last five years in the semiconductor intellectual property (SIP) industry as vice president worldwide sales for Improv Systems and Palmchip Corp. He has been published on successful selling of intellectual property and received his B.S.E.E. from University of Buffalo in New York.ClearSpeed Technology Ltd.
