Cat Bag Controversy

1:30 PM -- The AP reports on animal control authorities that may literally be letting the cat out of the bag:

Animal control authorities are not amused by a fast food chain's marketing stunt encouraging customers to dress their cats in a special take out bag.

Umm, sure, that's not amusing at all.

Tampa-based Checkers Drive-in Restaurants Inc. is distributing "Rapcat" bags designed with cutaway areas for the cat's legs and tail. The cat's head sticks out the opening of the bag, which is designed to look like to [sic] a basketball jersey and gold chain worn by the hip-hop Rapcat puppet in Checkers commercials.

Cats today... always trying to copy something they see on TV.

A Hillsborough County Animal Services news release on Monday said forcing a real, unwilling cat into a "Rapcat" bag could be considered felony animal cruelty. The bag's warning — "not all cats will be down with wearing this bag. Do not harm or endanger any cat" — is not enough, the agency said.

Presumably, only the dopest of cats will be down with wearing the bag.

re: Cat Bag Controversy These animal rights folks obviously have too much time on their hands.

Speaking of which. They obviously are not familiar with the folks that put this web site together.

re: Cat Bag Controversy LOL, that was funny.

We really do need to get you on board with the new political lexicon.

Liberal--->Progressive

Hillary Clinton = Liberal

Barak Obama = Progressive

Mark Risley = 44th President of The United States

Check This out: http://www.risley2008.com/

"However, I found out what politicians already know. Americans re-elect the incumbents no matter how stupid or corrupt they are. Look at Ted Kennedy. Fat, dumb drunk, kills a young woman, flees the scene of an accident and gets re-elected by the people of Massachusetts every 6-years because his brother was President. Please, someone, anybody, tell me one thing Teddy has done in the last 40 years other than drink way to much."

Now this Guy is a Democrat I could vote for!!

Cheers

P.S. What kind of effort do you think it would take to make Hillary Carbon Neutral?

re: Cat Bag Controversy Instead of dressing him up, how about making your cat Carbon Neutral ?

http://shop.easybeinggreen.com...

Making a red panda carbon neutral is probably alot more expensive than the cat.

Personally, I do my best to eat cows so they have to kill them and which immediately causes their flatulence to stop- after all, I have to do my part for carbon neutrality!

re: Cat Bag Controversy Very funny, CLG. I'm surprised this company isn't located in SF. The liberal peer pressure to be green can become a bit much here.

When I volunteered to chaperone a kindergarten field trip, my daughter's teacher asked me not to drive my SUV. Nevermind that it's fuel-efficient. It's still not a Prius.

re: Cat Bag Controversy SFWriter,

If you liked my little joke, you might love the SouthPark episode "Smug Alert" where Stan persuades all the citizens of South Park to buy hybrid cars.

"Good for you" is used as a "smug" saying by hybrid drivers to compliment ones self more than complimenting each other.

The SF new use of wine glasses was both gross and hilarious.

Glad you've figured out how to retain your sense of sense of humor in SF.

Regards,

CLG

BTW, the CEO of the Easy Being Green company came from Green Peace.

re: Cat Bag Controversy Lite Rock,

Thanks for your many entertaining contributions. Remember: web postings are almost completely carbon free and definitely should be guilt free.

I checked out the Risley guy: but he looks to much like Al Gore with hair plugs. Maybe its the puffy eyes. Anyboody willing to take shots at ole Teddy gets my attention but I'm more than a little steptical when a Califonia farmer starts talking about getting the lobbyists out of Washington.

Its amasing the dedication Al makes at preventing global warming by inhibiting flatulence: you can see the determination in his face!

re: Cat Bag Controversy "Random Man" always knows the best way to bring a discussion to a grinding halt.

You've been reading Dr.McWhiney again.

Thanks for taking the high road.
