Managed services provider Masergy has introduced new SDN-based features that allow its business customers to self-provision branch offices and more.

DALLAS -- Masergy Communications Inc., a global leader in managed networking and cloud services, today announced the general availability of its Network as a Service (NaaS) self-service option. Today’s announcement is an extension of Masergy’s Software Defined Network (SDN) Platform. This innovation underscores Masergy’s commitment to reducing IT complexity through software-defined, self-service configuration options.
Masergy’s NaaS with self-service lets customers quickly and cost-effectively connect corporate branch offices and remote locations to their Masergy global virtual private network.
Customers can use their own Internet service provider and a Masergy-provided managed appliance to serve as the VPN endpoint, which establishes a secure connection to the nearest Masergy point of presence. Customers can also use their own endpoint device for instantaneous implementation. Masergy’s NaaS with self service is available globally at bandwidths ranging from 1 Mbps to 100 Mbps.
NaaS with self-service is an ideal option for the following scenarios:
Stop-gap solution for short-term connectivity needs
Temporary work sites
Retail locations
Redundant connectivity for business continuity plans
“The introduction of NaaS with self-service represents another example of how Masergy is taking the complexity out of networks and offering customers self service provisioning, customized for individual business needs,” said Tim Naramore, CTO, Masergy. “There are no forms to fill out or sales representatives to speak with. Customers simply log into the portal and configure NaaS for any ISP, anywhere in the world.”
