UralSvyazInform reported its unconsolidated financial and operating results for 1H 2006 prepared to Russian Accounting Standards

EKATERINBURG, Russia -- Uralsvyazinform (RTS: URSI/URSIP, ADR: UVYZY/ UVYZYP), the leading carrier of fixed-line and mobile services in the Russian Urals region has reported its unconsolidated financial and operating results for 1H 2006 prepared to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS).

Highlights of the performance figures are as follows:

Revenues increased by 19% over 1H 2005, and the main growth drivers were increased local rates (monthly subscription fees for local services) and an increase in subscribers for fixed, mobile and Internet services.

OIBDA increased up to 31% on 1H 2005 as of 1H 2006. OIBDA margin totalled 38.4% and the operating margin was up to 26.5% on 1H 2005.

Revenue growth in business segments reached:
- local services - 19%;
- revenues from operators - 55%;
- mobile services - 352%, and
- Internet and unregulated data transmission services - 89%.

Overall subscriber base totalled 7.7 million, including 4.1 million in GSM.

The Company held its 2005 Annual General Meeting June 22, 2006 which elected the BoD members and confirmed the amount of dividend payment on ordinary and preferred shares, as well as introducing amendments and supplements to internal company documents.
