SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo Workshops Tackle Gigabit Broadband & More

EXTON, Pa. -- Cable will peer into a future of gigabit broadband services, 4K UHD, virtual reality and intelligent energy management solutions during four days of technical workshops at SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo® 2016, the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and its global arm, the International Society of Broadband Experts™ (ISBE), announced today.
Almost three dozen workshops—each featuring multiple presentations by subject matter experts—are on tap during the four-day event at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Workshops will focus on such topics as DOCSIS® 3.1, FTTx and the implementation and impact of new video experiences on existing networks, as well as Software Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and other next-generation network technologies, workforce optimization solutions and sessions informed by SCTE/ISBE’s landmark Energy 2020 program.
The workshops will be conducted Monday through Thursday, Sept. 26-29 and feature presentations by the industry’s most noted technologists, including John Ulm (ARRIS), John Chapman (Cisco), Rob Howald (Comcast), Jeff Finkelstein (Cox) and others. The agenda has been programmed by the SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2016 Program Committee, chaired by John Schanz, executive vice president and chief network officer of Comcast Cable.
