LONDON -- Ziptel Telecommunications is using managed VoIP and TDM switching infrastructure from Band-X to provide an easy to use and low cost, worldwide calling service to residential and business customers. Using the Band-X VoIP Enabled Managed Switch Partition and international call termination services, Ziptel can ensure that their rates are competitive and calls are of a consistently high quality.

Ron Abraham, Managing Director, Ziptel said, "Band-X has provided us with the opportunity to start up as quickly as possible, avoiding excessive capital outlay, with the ability to expand operations at the same rate as our traffic. Renting VoIP infrastructure has meant we can provide a high quality call service to our customers, at a much lower cost therefore maximising revenues. I have been impressed with the technical expertise available at Band-X and with the flexible approach taken by the account management team in providing us with a bespoke solution."

TDM/VoIP partitions from Band-X are fully scalable and can be easily integrated with IP peripherals such as innovative & cost efficient IVR (Interactive Voice Response) equipment. IVR is typically used to provide the user interface, which in this case was used to direct Ziptel callers to their selected call destination. This allowed Ziptel to launch its service in a matter of hours and then increase network capacity in line with customer demand - a key benefit for start-ups looking to minimise capital expenditure and risk.

"Band-X can provide each business with a tailor-made solution to suit their specific requirements. We then manage and operate the infrastructure on their behalf, giving them piece of mind to focus on growing their customer base," said Richard Elliott, Chairman, Band-X. "This allows smaller players to enter and grow the VoIP market and capitalise on innovative niche segments".
