PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Vyyo Inc. (Nasdaq: VYYO), a global supplier of broadband end-to-end solutions for telephony and high-speed data connections, today announced that it has selected William Keating to be the Chief Executive Officer of Xtend Networks, a Vyyo company that provides advanced broadband solutions for the cable TV industry.

William Keating stated, "Today consumers are demanding more broadband for video on demand, photo and movie transfer and HDTV. In addition, competition among companies providing broadband to the home is increasing. Therefore, cable operators' need for solutions that expand the broadband pipe is growing. Keating has over 25 years of industry experience, including senior executive roles at Moxi Digital, Microsoft, WebTV, General Magic, Rational Software and Sun Microsystems. Keating joined Microsoft after orchestrating the sale of WebTV to the company. While there, he was the General Manager of Microsoft TV. Most recently, Keating has served as a General Partner at Nekei LLC, where he worked with interactive media, cable, set-top box home media center and video entertainment companies.
