S3 Group Boasts Stellar 2013
DUBLIN -- S3 Group, an international digital TV company that enables operators and infrastructure vendors to accelerate the end-to-end delivery of multiscreen TV, has recorded strong revenue growth from the Video Service Provider market in 2013. S3 Group's TV Technology revenues have grown by 25 percent year-on-year, buoyed by the roll-out of new TV platforms, demand for multiscreen services, and a number of significant multi-year managed service agreements. New customers and contract expansions during the year included: Astro,BSkyB, upc cablecom, RDK Management LLC, Sky Deutschland, Tele Columbus and many others.
The company's end-to end system integration practice, covering head-end through to CPE, has seen significant growth throughout the year, with its operator customers moving forward with the development of their next-generation video delivery platform architectures. S3 Group's architects and program managers have been providing consultancy on a range of leading-edge projects, including: the roll out of network DVR platforms, cloud-hosted user interfaces and gateway-client CPE architectures.
StormTest, the leading multiscreen test automation platform continues to enjoy strong growth. With it, S3 Group has added new Tier-1 video service provider customers and deepened its relationship with existing clients. This year included a number of test automation product firsts including: first to market with 16-channel HD image handling, and market-leading scalability for large-scale stress testing.
During 2013, S3 Group was awarded the important task of code management for the official Reference Design Kit (RDK) code repository, by RDK Management LLC. RDK Management is a joint venture between Comcast Cable and Time Warner Cable and is supported by more than 100 licensees. S3 Group ensures the stability and integrity of RDK code releases as a managed service. Separately, the company is also engaged with several major pay-TV operators on RDK-based home gateway development projects. S3 Group is guiding these licensees through the development, integration and testing challenges associated with bringing RDK-based products to market.
Capping a strong year was the Irish Software Association award of Company of the Year to S3 Group. The judges said that "S3 Group stood out for its contribution to the software industry and for the breadth of innovation, vision and execution it displays in its business as it scales internationally".
