ALAMEDA, Calif. -- UTStarcom, Inc. (Nasdaq: UTSI), a global leader in IP-based, end-to-end networking solutions and services, today announced that the company will present two sessions at the Light Reading Next-Gen Broadband Networks: IPTV Completing the Triple Play conference on Monday, March 20, in Las Vegas.

UTStarcom, in cooperation with Light Reading, Heavy Reading, and leading equipment vendors, will host the exclusive one-day conference at the Four Seasons Hotel. The conference will provide attendees with an intensive education on the latest developments and trends in next-generation broadband networks and triple-play services, emphasizing IPTV. This event will coincide with the opening of TelecomNEXT.

UTStarcom Speaks on Triple-Play Services and IPTV

Panel Session: 10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. PST

Triple Play Services & Service Infrastructure

Brian Caskey, vice president of worldwide marketing, will participate in this session that explores the impact that triple-play services and IPTV are having on the service infrastructure. This panel will start by describing and explaining the next-generation SD and HD IP video services that are shaping carriers' triple-play bundles. It will also examine the technology evolution all the way from the networked home to the carrier service infrastructure, including VOD, PVR/nPVR, CA/DRM, middleware, and headend content processing.

Panel Session: 2:45 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. PST

Next-Generation Broadband Network Infrastructure

Ellis Reid, Director of Product Marketing, will join this session to review the impact that IPTV and other triple-play services will have on various aspects of the next-generation broadband network. This session will examine the changes underway in broadband access, as well as edge/aggregation and metro transport. In addition, policy control and service assurance for IP video will be explored.
