ATLANTA -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) had journalists and bloggers in for some U-verse IPTV demos on Tuesday, mainly to point out that its IPTV strategy is working and that the service has loads of upside in the apps space. (See AT&T Touts the U-Verse Reality and A Look Back at U-verse .)

This morning, we're sharing our photos from the event. To go behind the scenes at AT&T, please click on the first pic to open the slideshow: The U-verse Zoo — Phil Harvey, Editor-in-Chief, Light Reading

re: Photos From AT&T's U-verse Tour

Okay, I'm a U-Verse user, an iPad and iPhone user, when is the app coming?  i've been waiting for the streaming TV app since CTIA and haven't heard a word about it.  Of course, I've also been waiting for tethering for the iPhone since June of '09.

Howdy (as we say in FW),

AT&T gave no deadlines or details. This was a purely "Here's what's coming/Here's what's possible" kind of meeting.

I would expect the updated iPhone app and the iPad app in 1-3 months.

I don't know about tethering for the iPhone, that wasn't discussed or brought up at all.

The 3D broadcasting will come soon, too, because it was just a software update in Mediaroom and AT&T says its current set-tops can handle it. Also, I expect that the cable movement in this area has AT&T moving fast to keep up.

Sorry I can't be any more specific on those items. All else was pretty much a matter of "someday soon" or "one day, maybe".

Michael Boatright is on the left in the observation room, and Brent McDaniel is the gentleman on the right. Michael is a member of AT&T Labs in the Architecture, Service Concepts and Video department, while Brent is a Senior Product Marketing Manager with AT&T Consumer side for U-verse. Thanks to Darryl Cynthia Moore in the Human Factors Lab for the info (and the helpful chat while we were on tour).
