Despite its lukewarm reception in the U.S., Google TV will make its debut in Europe early next year. "We are absolutely committed to staying, to improving Google TV," Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Chairman Eric Schmidt told broadcasters at the Edinburgh International Television Festival in Scotland. Pace plc says its C30 set-top is the first device to be certified by the RVU Alliance , the group behind a client/server architecture that lets service providers deliver a consistent user interface to every TV in a customer's household. Dish has launched the Tailgater, a ten-pound, US$350 portable satellite system that the company unveiled in May at its Retailer Summit in Denver.
The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) says it has certified more than 100 products, including routers, set-tops, cable modems and Ethernet-to-coax bridges. About 85 percent of all MoCA-certified products are used by pay-TV operators.
