PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- One of this year’s remarkable new products, the O2 TV (fixed-line television) service from Telefónica O2 Czech Republic has once again increased its market share of multimedia entertainment in the Czech Republic. Since September 1, 2006, when the service was introduced to the market, the company has registered 15,000 customers who actively use the O2 TV service.

Sales of the service on the Czech market have been supported considerably by the opportunity to get one of the 20 LCD televisions that Telefónica O2 Czech Republic is giving away every day. The high-quality gift is waiting for everyone who orders the O2 TV service by December 24, 2006 and sends the most accurate possible answer, via SMS, to the question “How tall is the highest tower in the Czech Republic from which Telefónica O2 broadcasts a television or GSM signal?” to the phone number 720 001 002. The total number of winners over the duration of the contest will exceed at least 1,000. Detailed contest rules are available (in Czech only) at www.o2-tv.cz

What does O2 TV offer?

With O2 TV, customers not only get access to films and television and radio programs, they can also get other benefits that only the rapidly expanding service can bring to this market. These include the Videotheque – a virtual video rental shop – and the TV Archives, thanks to which customers can watch selected films, serials, and sport broadcasts that are stored in the archives for seven days after they are aired. O2 TV also offers a TV Guide that enables subscribers to find information about schedules on individual television and radio channels, including detailed information about programs.
