Microsoft IPTV Hits Spain

3:50 PM -- Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) added to its list of IPTV commercial deployments in Europe today as Ya.com , Deutsche Telekom AG (NYSE: DT)'s ISP in Spain, launched its TV-over-broadband offering.

Ya.Com isn't the first part of the German incumbent's empire to use the Microsoft TV Edition system that the rest of of the IPTV sector loves to hate. DT itself has launched its service using the software giant's system, while Ya.Com's French brother/sister, Club Internet , launched in June 2006. Microsoft is likely to expand its list of customers by default in the coming months, though, as both Ya.Com and Club Internet are currently up for sale. (See Eurobites: M&A Hotbed.)
