OSLO -- At the opening of IPTV World Forum in London, UK, Appear TV, a global provider of next-generation head-ends for broadcast and IP television, today announced that Industria, Appear TV’s long standing solutions partner, has deployed AppearTV’s SC2000 in the Velocity1 project in Wembley.

Velocity1 is a full-service TV, telephony and broadband operator jointly owned with the leading UK property developer Quintain Estates & Development plc. Velocity1 launched its first offering at Quintain’s Wembley City, a new development that will comprise approximately 10,000 homes and businesses, and plans to bring the Velocity1 service to hundreds of thousands of UK homes in the coming years.

"We are thrilled to have been given the responsibility of building Velocity1 for Quintain," said Erling Gudmundsson, CEO, Industria. "Having built similar end-to-end operators for investors before, we have the knowledge and experience to deliver a first-class system that meets all requirements. Appear TV's proven broadcast head-end solutions were central to this. We are confident that we have succeeded in building what will become one of the UK's most important media and entertainment provider companies in the coming years, and we are delighted to be able to draw upon Appear TV’s expertise as we drive this forward."

“The Velocity1 project requires management of services from a variety of sources and content providers” said Carl-Walter Holst, CEO, Appear TV. “The deployment demonstrates the full flexibility of Appear TV’s content acquisition and management facilities, and we are pleased to play a central part of Industria’s and Velocity1’s ambitious plans.”
