Time Warner Cable appoints John Martin as CFO, Landel Hobbs as COO, and Robert Marcus as senior executive vice president

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Time Warner Cable today announced the appointment of John K. Martin as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Martin joins the cable unit as CFO after spending almost 12 years with the parent company, Time Warner Inc. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations, where he was the principal day-to-day contact with the investment community. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of Time Warner's investor communications strategy.

"John is a seasoned executive with broad and extensive financial experience. Through his years at Time Warner Inc. and on Wall Street, he has gained a deep understanding and appreciation for our business. John is an expert at telling cable's story and he is well-known among the investment community. He will be an invaluable addition to our senior management team as we move toward becoming a publicly-traded company next year."

Martin was Director in the Equity Research group of ABN AMRO Securities LLC from 2000 to 2002, immediately before re-joining Time Warner Inc. as head of its Investor Relations unit. He held the position of Vice President of Investor Relations at Time Warner Inc. from 1999 to 2000. Earlier, he served as Director in the Office of the President at Time Warner, where he provided financial advice to the company and its current Chairman and CEO, Richard D. Parsons. Martin also served as Director of Finance Special Projects, where he was involved in diverse projects including strategic planning, company restructuring and refinancing, budgeting and mergers and acquisitions. Martin joined Time Warner Inc. in 1993 as a Manager of SEC financial reporting.

Under Martin's leadership, Institutional Investor magazine awarded its most recent top-ranking of investor relations programs to Time Warner Inc. In his first year as a securities analyst, Martin was named Institutional Investor's 2001 All America Research team "Next Generation" analyst for the cable TV industry.

Before joining Time Warner Inc., Martin was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), working as a senior accountant in the Business Assurance group at Ernst and Young LLP in New York.

Martin serves on the client advisory board for Thomson Financial Services. He is also a member of the National Investor Relations Institute, the Museum of Television & Radio and The Conference Board's Global Council of Investor Relations Executives.

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Time Warner Cable today announced the promotion of Landel C. Hobbs to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Hobbs has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the cable company since October 2001.

"Landel has demonstrated strong leadership qualities and he has shown the kind of judgment required to take on this very important assignment," said Glenn Britt, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in making the announcement. "Landel understands the many inter-working parts of this business and he has a keen knowledge of the operational imperatives our division presidents and regional management deal with on a daily basis."

Prior to joining the cable unit, Hobbs was Vice President, Financial Analysis and Operations Support for the parent company, Time Warner Inc. (then called AOL Time Warner), where he was responsible for budgeting, financial forecasts and profit improvement at the various company divisions. Earlier, Hobbs served as Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., another division of Time Warner Inc. He was with Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. from 1993-2000.

Before joining the company in 1993, Hobbs was Senior Vice President and Audit Director for the Banc One Illinois Corporation. He served as senior manager with KPMG Peat Marwick from 1984-1990.

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Time Warner Cable today announced the appointment of Robert D. Marcus as Senior Executive Vice President. In this newly created role, Marcus will have oversight responsibility for the cable company's mergers and acquisitions, its programming affiliation relationships and its legal and human resources departments. Marcus will also take a lead role in overall business strategy development.

"Rob's high-level deal making and strategic experience for the corporate parent will make him an important addition to the senior management team here at Time Warner Cable," said Glenn Britt, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Marcus most recently served as Senior Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions for the parent company, Time Warner Inc. In that capacity, he was the corporate point person on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other related transactions. He has held this position since 2002. Marcus joined Time Warner Inc. in 1998 as Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions and has held various positions in the company during his close to eight years of service.

From 1990-1997, Marcus practiced law at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where he was one of Time Warner Inc.'s principal outside corporate counsels.
